IoT SIM for fleets, GPS and vehicle telematics
Multi-carrier SIM with EU+UK roaming and no permanent-roaming restriction, for GPS tracking, FMS telematics, smart tachograph, e-CMR and dashcams. The SIM doesn't disconnect when your truck crosses the border for 90 days, doesn't expire on inactivity and is bulk-managed by API. Failover across Movistar, Vodafone and Orange in Spain.
Why iot.cards for connected fleets
EU+UK roaming with no 90-day cut-off
iot.cards M2M SIMs aren't subject to the consumer fair-use disconnect: your vehicle can spend 12 months outside Spain without the SIM being cut off or you being charged the visited-carrier retail rate. Essential for international fleets and long-term rental vehicles.
Failover across three Spanish carriers
In Spain the SIM attaches to the strongest of Movistar, Vodafone and Orange. If one network drops in a specific stretch of the route, it switches without device reset. Zero "vehicle offline" windows during a single carrier's maintenance.
Private APN to your TMS
Your GPS devices and dashcams send data directly to your corporate TMS or CRM via a dedicated APN with an IPSec/WireGuard tunnel into your VPC. No public-Internet traffic, no per-device VPN client.
Bulk API by plate or VIN
Provision 200 SIMs in a single POST with CSV. Tag each SIM by plate, driver or route. Change plan, pause, reactivate or query consumption by API. HMAC-signed webhooks notify network events and incidents for integration with your fleet maintenance system.
Pooled bundles across the whole fleet
A shared data pool across the 200 vehicles: high-mileage drivers compensate parked ones. End of the per-vehicle individual-bundle problem where some SIMs burn through in week one and others sit idle.
Engineering support in English (and Spanish)
Engineering team in Seville. Technical onboarding (route-type coverage validation, APN setup, API integration) from the first SIM. Operations support by phone and email in CET hours; 24/7 with SLA on enterprise plans.
Fleet coverage in Spain and Europe
The SIM connects to the three Spanish networks (Movistar, Vodafone, Orange) and, as soon as the vehicle crosses the border, roams on 750+ networks across 190+ countries. In EU and UK the rate is similar to domestic; in other zones it's published per country.
Carriers in Spain
- Movistar (Telefónica España)
- Vodafone Spain
- Orange Spain
Typical fleet technologies
For standard GPS tracking, 4G LTE is the default technology; LTE-M is used for low-power loads (dry box, container telemetry). 2G/3G are in sunset across Spain and Europe — for new fleets, avoid modems that only support 2G/3G.
Capabilities for fleet operators
Beyond basic connectivity, the IoT SIM ships with the layers a fleet operator needs:
Full fleet architecture
Vertical solution page with technical detail: data sizing per device (basic GPS vs FMS vs dashcam vs e-CMR), network architecture, TMS and standard telematics platform integration.
View fleet architecturePrivate APN to your TMS
Dedicated APN with your CIDR and an IPSec or WireGuard tunnel into your VPC. Your 200 vehicles send telemetry directly to your platform without traversing the public Internet.
View private APNREST API for bulk management
Activation, suspension, pause, plan changes and consumption queries by API. Batches via CSV, ICCID-keyed idempotency, HMAC-signed webhooks. Integrate the SIM lifecycle into your fleet maintenance system.

Shared data pool across the entire fleet: high-mileage drivers compensate parked vehicles. No overruns from individual SIMs going over budget or sitting idle.
View pooled plansTypical fleet use cases
- Commercial GPS tracking (light and heavy vehicles)
- Smart tachograph remote download and periodic file pickup
- e-CMR and electronic delivery notes
- 4G/5G dashcams with on-demand video
- FMS with CAN bus (fuel, RPM, AdBlue, driving times)
- Refrigerated trailer monitoring (cold chain)
- Rental fleets and car sharing (telemetry + remote unlock)
- Last-mile delivery (rider tracking, POD)
- Construction and earth-moving machinery
- International EU logistics (long-haul truck)
Pricing and lock-in
No lock-in, no minimum monthly fee per SIM. Three tariffs depending on fleet size and profile:
Pay-as-you-go small fleet
€0.005/MB per SIM. For fleets < 20 vehicles with light telemetry (GPS + status).
Pooled bundle medium fleet
Pooled data bundle across all vehicles, sized to the aggregate profile. For fleets of 20–500 vehicles with FMS + occasional dashcam.
Enterprise
Custom tariff with SLA, dedicated private APN, TMS integration and 24/7 support. For large fleets or vehicles operating 24/7.

Frequently asked questions about IoT SIMs for fleets
- Does the SIM stop working if the truck spends 6 months outside Spain?
- No. iot.cards M2M SIMs aren't subject to the 90-day fair-use cut-off that affects European consumer SIMs. The vehicle can spend months outside the issuing country without the SIM disconnecting or the visited carrier's retail rate kicking in. This is the key difference for international fleets that, with consumer SIMs, start seeing silent disconnects after a few weeks.
- EU and UK coverage post-Brexit?
- Yes. After Brexit, UK is still reachable on roaming at rates similar to the EU; per-MB cost across EU+UK is comparable to Spanish domestic. M2M SIMs aren't covered by the BEREC consumer roaming regulator, so they don't have the European fair-use cut-off either. For vehicles regularly transiting UK, connectivity is transparent.
- Pooled data across all vehicles?
- Yes, on pooled plans. You contract a fleet-wide data bundle (e.g. 100 GB/month for 50 vehicles) and SIMs share that bundle: high-mileage drivers compensate parked vehicles. Avoids the typical waste of per-SIM bundles (half are unused, the other half burn through).
- How do I bulk-provision 200 SIMs by API?
- POST /sims accepts batches in CSV or JSON with ICCID, plan, tags (plate, driver, route) and optionally private APN. The API is idempotent on ICCID, returns a job_id for progress polling and emits HMAC-signed webhooks on batch completion. Docs at /plataforma/api. You can also drag-import a CSV from the portal.
- Static IP for dashcam access?
- Yes, public or private static IP as add-on. Lets your video platform pull the RTSP or HLS stream from the vehicle (inbound access). Technical detail at /productos/sim-ip-fija. For large fleets, private static IP within a private APN is the standard architecture.
- Private APN to my TMS or corporate system?
- Yes. We provision a dedicated APN with your CIDR range (RFC1918) and an IPSec or WireGuard tunnel into your VPC on AWS, Azure, GCP or your on-prem DC. Your 200 vehicles send telemetry without traversing the public Internet, which simplifies audit and reduces attack surface. Detail at /productos/apn-privado.
- Data-only or also voice/SMS?
- Data-only by default (the standard in vehicle telematics). SMS available as an add-on for specific cases (driver notification, two-way panels with HQ). Voice isn't enabled on M2M.
- Compatible with smart tachograph?
- Yes. The second-generation V2 smart tachograph uses cellular connectivity for remote DDD file download and authority reporting. The M2M IoT SIM is compatible with the main vendors (VDO, Stoneridge, Continental). If your FMS integrator needs specific configuration data (APN, authentication), we provide it during onboarding.
- What happens if the SIM has no network for 30 days (vehicle in workshop)?
- Nothing. The SIM doesn't expire on inactivity or get disconnected. The vehicle leaves the workshop, the SIM auto-attaches as soon as it gets signal and resumes reporting. Nothing to manually reactivate. That's a meaningful difference from recycled consumer SIMs, which can be deactivated after periods of inactivity.
