eSIM activation code parser (LPA)

Paste an eSIM activation code and we check its structure against GSMA SGP.22: version, SM-DP+ address, activation token, optional OID and confirmation-code flag. We also rebuild the canonical code and its QR. It's a validation tool for a code you already have; it doesn't order, activate or manage profiles. Everything runs in your browser.

Enter an activation code (starts with LPA:) to parse it.

How to read an eSIM activation code

An eSIM activation code is the string a device uses to download its profile, and it follows the GSMA SGP.22 format. It starts with "LPA:", followed by the version (today always 1), and from there the fields are separated by the dollar sign: first the address of the SM-DP+ server that hosts the profile, then the activation token (or Matching ID) that identifies that specific profile, and optionally an SM-DP+ OID and a flag for whether a confirmation code is required. The same content is what the scanned QR encodes: there is nothing more "inside" the QR than this string. The most common mistakes when copying a code by hand are dropping a character from the token, putting an https:// in front of the address, or swallowing the dollar sign that separates the fields; this tool catches them before a device rejects the profile.

Frequently asked questions

What is an LPA activation code?
It's the string an eSIM-capable device uses to download a profile from the SM-DP+ server, defined in the GSMA SGP.22 specification. It has the form LPA:1$SM-DP+-address$token, with optional fields for the OID and the confirmation code. It's the same data the activation QR encodes: scanning the QR or typing the string are equivalent.
What are the SM-DP+ and the activation token?
The SM-DP+ (Subscription Manager Data Preparation) is the server that prepares and delivers the eSIM profile; its address is a domain name. The activation token, or Matching ID, is the identifier that tells that server which specific profile to deliver to your device. Together, address and token are the minimum a valid activation code needs.
Does this tool download or activate the profile?
No. It only parses and validates the structure of a code you already have, and rebuilds its canonical form and QR. Downloading and activating the profile is done by the device (or its LPA manager) against the SM-DP+ server; that's a provisioning operation, not a text check. Nothing you paste leaves your browser.
What does the confirmation-code flag mean?
It's the last optional field of the activation code. When it's 1, the SM-DP+ server requires an additional confirmation code (delivered separately by the operator) before releasing the profile, as a security measure. If it's empty or absent, no confirmation code is required. The tool tells you which case applies.
