Frequently asked questions
- Which mobile network does the IoT SIM connect to?
- In Spain, the SIM authenticates against Telefónica, Vodafone, Orange and MásMóvil based on coverage and signal quality. If one network drops, the modem automatically re-attaches to another. Internationally, the SIM accesses 750+ networks in 190 countries via permanent roaming. No device reconfiguration is needed when carriers switch.
- Does the IoT SIM work in any country?
- Commercial coverage in 190+ countries across 750+ mobile networks. The SIM switches automatically to the best available operator at each location. Check /coverage to confirm availability and technologies per country.
- Is roaming permanent, or does it switch off after 90 days?
- Permanent roaming with no operational restrictions. We do not apply the 90-day limits that some operators impose on consumer SIMs; this SIM is M2M-native and does not disconnect after extended stays abroad.
- What network technologies does it support? LTE-M and NB-IoT?
- 2G, 3G, 4G LTE and 5G for general coverage; LTE-M and NB-IoT where the local operator supports them. Per-country LTE-M / NB-IoT availability is documented at /coverage. Technology comparison at /resources/comparisons/lte-m-vs-nb-iot.
- Can I add static IP or private APN on this SIM?
- Yes. Static IP and private APN are add-on services on the same SIM. Details at /products/static-ip-sim and /products/private-apn.
- What is the difference vs eSIM and MFF2?
- The physical IoT SIM ships in removable 2FF/3FF/4FF form factors. The eSIM (eUICC) lets you download operator profiles remotely — useful when the device travels between regions with different regulation. MFF2 is the solderable format for OEM PCB integration. Comparison at /resources/comparisons/esim-vs-traditional-sim.
- How much does it cost? Is there a lock-in?
- No lock-in. Pooled billing across the SIM fleet: pay-as-you-go (€0.005/MB), data packages with volume discounts, or enterprise custom quote. Details at /pricing/pay-as-you-go.
- How do I manage the lifecycle of each SIM?
- Via web portal (activation, suspension, pause, top-up, monitoring, alarms) and via documented REST API with webhooks, ICCID idempotency and HMAC verification. Guide at /resources/guides/rest-api-integration.
