Multi-network IoT SIM cards for Spain (Telefónica, Vodafone, Orange, MásMóvil)

Multi-network IoT SIM cards with access to all four Spanish carriers — Telefónica, Vodafone, Orange and MásMóvil — plus 750+ networks across 190+ countries. No lock-in, Spanish invoicing, Spanish-speaking technical support from network engineers since 2013. 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, 5G, LTE-M and NB-IoT. Private APN, static IP and REST API. Built for fleets, solar, smart metering, alarms, EV chargers, POS, and any IoT deployment within Spain or beyond.

Why iot.cards for your Spanish deployment

Access to all four Spanish national networks

The SIM attaches automatically to the best available operator (Telefónica, Vodafone, Orange, MásMóvil) per location. If a network drops or loses signal, the device switches without intervention. The difference between depending on one footprint and removing the single point of failure.

Full radio coverage

2G and 3G where the operator still keeps them on, 4G LTE in general coverage, 5G across cities and main highways, LTE-M for low-power sensors and NB-IoT for meters and hard-to-reach installations. The choice is not yours: the modem decides based on the active technology in that cell.

Private APN and static IP

Dedicated APN with your own CIDR range and IPSec or WireGuard tunnel against your VPC. Static public or private IPv4 end to end. Useful for SCADA, electricity metering and any device a corporate firewall has to list by address.

REST API and management portal

Activation, suspension, top-up, monitoring and diagnostics from a single console. Documented REST API with webhooks, ICCID idempotency and HMAC verification. Integrate the SIM lifecycle into your platform without opening a ticket.

Engineers, not a call center

Technical team in Seville, reachable by phone and email in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Technical onboarding from day one, not just for large accounts. Private APN, static IP, API integration and network diagnostics handled directly by engineering.

Every form factor including solderable MFF2

2FF (Mini SIM), 3FF (Micro SIM), 4FF (Nano SIM) and MFF2 WLCSP solderable on-board for OEM production. Industrial range -40 °C to +105 °C. Same IMSI and same plan regardless of form factor.

Operators and technologies in Spain

Spain has been our home market since 2013. The SIM connects to the three national mobile networks with priority and fallback configured to actual coverage at each location.

Available operators

  • Movistar (Telefónica España)
  • Vodafone Spain
  • Orange Spain

Available technologies

2G GSM/GPRS3G UMTS/HSPA4G LTE5GLTE-M (Cat-M1)NB-IoT (Cat-NB1/NB2)

LTE-M and NB-IoT availability depends on operator and zone. To validate technology at a specific location before a mass rollout, request a SIM Test Kit or check the coverage page.

Technical capabilities

Beyond basic connectivity, the IoT SIM ships the layers an enterprise deployment needs:

Private APN

Dedicated APN with RFC1918 addressing, IPSec or WireGuard tunnel into your VPC and mutual authentication. Per-ICCID and per-PDP-session traceability.

Static IP

Public or private static IPv4 per SIM, persistently assigned. Lets your firewall or SCADA platform list by address and simplifies audit.

REST API and webhooks

Provisioning, plan changes, usage queries, network events and blocking rules from a documented REST API. Webhooks signed with HMAC.

Management portal

Bilingual web console for activation, suspension, top-up, monitoring, alarms, CDR export and per-device network diagnostics.

Typical use cases in Spain

  • Electricity and water smart metering (meters, PLC concentrators)
  • Fleet management and GPS tracking (transport, logistics)
  • EV charging stations (OCPP, eMSP roaming)
  • Photovoltaic and BESS plant monitoring
  • Residential and industrial alarms (SMS or IP events)
  • 4G/5G video surveillance and IP cameras into cloud VMS
  • Agricultural and industrial sensing (LTE-M / NB-IoT)
  • Connected elevators (2G → LTE-M migration for EN 81-28)
  • Industrial routers and SD-WAN for retail and remote offices
  • Point-of-sale terminals and vending machines

Pricing and lock-in

No lock-in. No minimum monthly fee per SIM. Three tariffs depending on the aggregate fleet usage profile:

Pay-as-you-go

€0.005/MB for low-consumption profiles. Ideal for alarms, event telemetry, smart metering and devices that report rarely.

Data bundles

Pooled bundles with volume discounts. For fleets with predictable consumption (light video, POS, EV chargers).

Enterprise

Custom tariff with SLA, SCADA integration and dedicated private APN. For large or regulated deployments.

Frequently asked questions

Which Spanish carriers does the iot.cards IoT SIM cover?
All four major Spanish carriers: Telefónica, Vodafone, Orange, and MásMóvil. The SIM authenticates against any of them based on coverage and signal quality at each location, without forced steering to a single carrier. This carrier-independent failover is what distinguishes a true multi-network SIM from a single-carrier SIM with fallback.
What does "multi-network" include? Is this a physical SIM or eSIM?
A multi-IMSI physical IoT SIM with access to Telefónica, Vodafone, Orange and MásMóvil in Spain (and 750+ networks in 190+ countries when roaming). Available in 2FF, 3FF, 4FF and solderable MFF2. If you need eSIM (eUICC with SGP.32 for remote profile download), we also offer it — see /products/iot-esim.
How does the SIM decide which operator to use?
The modem evaluates available networks' signal quality and attaches to the best profile. If that network loses coverage or drops, it switches to the next IMSI without intervention. The policy can be customized (operator preference, exclusion, explicit fallback) from the portal or via API.
Are there permanent-roaming restrictions like consumer SIMs?
No. These SIMs are M2M-native and do not disconnect after 90 days abroad. If your device travels across the EU, the UK or further, it stays connected under the local visited operator's terms.
Does it support NB-IoT and LTE-M in Spain?
Yes where the local operator has them deployed. NB-IoT coverage has improved a lot in recent years with Movistar and Vodafone, especially for smart metering. LTE-M is most widespread in cities and logistics corridors. To validate availability at a specific location before ordering thousands of units, request the SIM Test Kit (free shipping to Spain) and run a field test.
Can I get a static IP on the IoT SIM?
Yes. Static IP (public or private static IPv4) is contracted as an additional layer over the same SIM. Useful for metering SCADA, devices behind a corporate firewall or platforms that list by IP. Details at /products/static-ip-sim.
And a private APN against my VPC?
Yes. We provision a dedicated APN with your CIDR range and an IPSec or WireGuard tunnel into your cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, OVH). Each device lands in your VPC without traversing the public Internet. Details at /products/private-apn.
How long does deployment take from order?
The SIM Test Kit (5 units, €15 VAT included, free shipping to Spain) ships in 24-48 h. Larger volumes depend on form factor: 2FF/3FF/4FF in stock with 3-5 day delivery; solderable MFF2, 2-4 week manufacturing lead time depending on volume.
Is technical support available in Spanish?
Yes. Engineering team in Seville responding in Spanish (and English and Portuguese). Technical onboarding from day one, regardless of account size.
How do I migrate from my current single-operator SIM without breaking operations?
We recommend gradual migration: pilot 5-10% of the fleet, validate KPIs (latency, availability, billing) and rotate as devices come up for maintenance. Private APN and static IP are replicated on the new infrastructure. The migration plan is sized during onboarding.
